Winter Break (12/22-1/1) Students Return 1/2/19

Winter Break begins for students Saturday 12/22/18 and students will return to school on Wednesday 1/2/19. We hope that every student enjoys their break and happy holidays to all!

ASVAB Test (1/15/19)

Hammond will be offering ASVAB the morning of Tuesday, January 15th. All students whether they are planning to seek employment, enter military service or further education at a college or university, are welcome to take advantage of this great opportunity. The results can help students with course selection during the rest of their high school years, as well as offer alternative opportunities for post-high school. If interested, students can pick up a permission slip from either Student Services of Ms. Fitzpatrick (Room 608). Any questions can be directed to Ms. Fitzpatrick as well!

National Honor Society Induction (Now 12/13)

National Honor Society Induction Ceremony (Rescheduled): Thurs. 12/13 at 7pm Hammond High School's National Honor Society looks forward to inducting its 60 new members this Thursday, December 13th at 7pm in the auditorium. State Senator Guy Guzzone will be joining us as the keynote speaker. We look forward to celebrating our new members along with their friends and family!

Winter Music Concerts

Music Department Winter Concerts The Hammond Music Department is excited to invite everyone to their Winter Concert December 11! The concert starts at 7pm and feature over 280 Hammond students. The second concert includes the Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, Chamber Choir, Treble Choir, Concert Choir, and A Cappella groups. Tickets are $5 and the same ticket gets you into both concerts!

G/T Advanced Research Program’s Information Night 12/17

Are you interested in having your student apply to the Independent Research Program or the Intern-Mentor Program? Both courses offer unique opportunities for students to learn about research and to complete a research project based on a topic of their choice. IR students stay in school and work with an advisor in their field of interest as well as the G/T Resource Teacher. Mentor students leave the building for a 5 hour/week on-site experience. Both classes must complete a final research project. Enrollment is limited and based on application information, teacher recommendations and transcripts.
