Students who do not have an HCPSS-issued Chromebook may pick one up from the front office any work day between 8am - 2pm. Chromebooks will also be issued during the first weeks of school.
Students are expected to bring their devices and chargers to school every day. Students may not use them in every class, every day; however, we will not have computer lab carts in classrooms so it's important that students have theirs.
Charges will now be assessed for HCPSS-issued Chromebooks that are lost/stolen or damaged while in a student's care and/or as the result of neglect on the part of the student. Students who currently receive Free and Reduced Meal services (FARMs) will be charged a reduced amount. Students and parents/guardians can view the full list of costs HERE.
Chromebook Responsibilities
Families are asked to review the HCPSS Student Mobile Technology Duties and Obligations notice and remind students of the expectations around proper care.
Families should review the devices assigned to their student(s) in HCPSS Connect Synergy and use the form to verify the devices listed for their family are assigned correctly. HCPSS staff will review when families report incorrect assignments and will reach out to families as needed.
Damaged Devices:
Should an HCPSS Chromebook become damaged, students/parents should bring the damaged device to their student’s school or an HCPSS Technology Support Center.
The staff member taking the report will document the incident. After which, staff will review the report and device to assess charges, as appropriate.
