HCPSS previously announced it had received grants and funding to achieve a one-to-one ratio of student to devices. We are pleased to announce that Hammond has received our shipment of Chromebooks and will begin distributing these to all students who do not currently have an HCPSS-issued device.
Any Hammond High School student who does not have an HCPSS-issued Chromebook assigned to them OR was assigned a temporary Dell laptop is eligible to pick up a new device. If you are exchanging your Dell laptop, you will need to bring it and the charger with you.
Students are encouraged to pick-up their devices at our drive thru distribution date on Wednesday, February 24th.
Upon arrival, all parents/guardians, emergency contacts and/or students must wear a protective face mask and comply with social distancing guidelines. Hammond staff will be outside the main entrance and check out devices to students' cars.
If you are unable to attend the main distribution date, you can come into the HaHS Front Office between the hours of 8am - 2:30pm.
The Chromebook Duties and Obligations can be accessed on the HCPSS website. After receiving an HCPSS Chromebook, families can use the directions for connecting a Chromebook to Wi-Fi to connect it to their home network. If your student has questions on how to use the technology to access instruction or is having technical issues, please reach out to one of your child’s teachers and/or Library Media Specialist.
