As Dr. Martirano shared in his message last week, the remaining days of school will feature activities intended to wrap up the year by giving students opportunities to reflect on their online learning since March, assess and address their wellness, and celebrate the end of the school year. To that end, HCPSS and Hammond High have planned lessons and activities for students to engage in each day through June 23rd.
Here is some info about June 15th-June 18th and the half days on the 19th, 22nd, and 23rd:
Students will follow their normal meeting schedule for the week. Each content area has been assigned a different lesson to present that includes topics such as wellness and self-care, feedback on distance learning, accessing community resources, and reflecting on current events. Teachers will share information about lessons through their Canvas pages and announcements.
Each of these days is a half day and no activities will go past 11am. Here’s what we have planned:
All meetings will happen virtually via Google Meet and codes will be sent out via the HaHS Student Community in Canvas by Thursday.
If you have any questions or concerns about the activities planned through the end of the year, feel free to reach out to your teacher, counselor, or administrator. Thanks.
