Science National Honor Society (SNHS)

The purpose of the Science National Honor Society Chapter at Hammond High School (Chapter #1038) is to encourage participation in and recognition of scientific and intellectual thought. It is to advance the students’ knowledge of science, to communicate with the scientific community, and to aid the community with its comprehension of science. It is to encourage students to participate in community service and, in turn, encourage a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all mankind.

Do you want to be a member of Science National Honor Society?  Here's How:  

Fill out the following forms:

- SNHS Application  

- SNHS Teacher Recommendation Form (you need TWO of these) 
You must complete the Application as well as TWO Science Teacher Recommendations and return to Ms. Sibrian (Rm 406) by October 17, 2018

Forms are available from Ms. Sibrian in room 406 or by emailing Callie_Sibrian-Alas@hcpss.org

SNHS Requirements:

A member must have and maintain a 3.0 grade point average. A member must be currently enrolled in a science class. A member must

be enrolled in at least one GT level science class during or prior to the eleventh grade year. A member must be enrolled in at least one second year GT science class during or prior to the twelfth grade year. A member must be enrolled in at least one upper level science class during the twelfth grade year. A member must maintain a B cumulative average (3.00/4.00) across each science course.

If you are a graduating senior and would like a Science National Honor Society honor cord for graduation a fee of $15.00 is due to Ms. Sibrian by MARCH 1St !! Don’t miss out! We will only be purchasing a few extra and they will be distributed on a first come – first serve basis!
